The “Barba-Lias” Era
“Don’t rake through the olive-branches! Comb them.”
In the term “family-business” the word “family” is the one that comes first. That’s true for Mavrias Organics too. “Barba-Lias” was the father of all this. Once the head of the family, today he remains at the heart of all we aspire to become. He was a friendly and sharing person or as we call it in Greek “ekso kardia” which roughly translates to “great heart”. A worker of the land, a tavern owner, a wine enthusiast, a food aficionado, a great storyteller, an eco-donkey-driver and a wonderful Pappou.
The “Daskalos” Era
“Instilling knowledge and excellent olive oil”
Thodoris Mavrias, also known as Daskalos because of his main profession as a teacher, is the man that envisioned what Mavrias Organics is today and worked hard to make it come true. In 2000 he initiated the process of transition to bio agricultural practices and is until today the quality gatekeeper of every last drop of olive oil we produce. Alongside him another teacher without whom none of this would be possible, his wife Yianna.
All those years those two did not just grow the business, they also raised 3 sons who currently work together to help bring the business into its next era and even more shelves around the world.
